The Forecaster for May 8, 2018

The meeting last week started with a real high point when Brooke Curran returned for the first time after some medical time off. Things stayed on a high plain with Bob McClure’s classification talk – he came from NJ, went to LaFayette College, worked for politicians, and found he really enjoyed volunteer activities. He was pleased when Tom Roberts introduced him to Rotary and our scope of community service so he’s glad to become a Rotarian. A real fantastic speaker, the Hon. Bob Livingston gave us a fascinating discussion of his views of politics and government based on his over 20 years in the House and many as Chair of the House Appropriationgs Committee. He was concerned with the current state of discourse on Capital Hill and the almost total lack of any worthwhile legislative performance. A most interesting talk by a distinguished leaser and patriot.
